CCSU lockdown: Central Connecticut State University on high alert during reports of body-armor-clad gunman

Students reported seeing a man with a gun, a sword and body armor Monday morning as CCSU ordered anyone on the New Britain, Conn. campus to find shelter, lock doors and stay inside.

1 Arrested, along with two persons of interest.

Central Connecticut State University was shutdown for about three hours after  several 911 calls reported a man walking on campus with a gun, a sword and body  armor. An unidentified student was arrested Monday afternoon, along with two  persons of interest, officials said.

Authorities released few details about the incident at a press conference  late Thursday afternoon. There were no injuries. All three “student-age” male  supsects were arrested without incident on the fourth floor of the James Hall  dormitory.

“In this situation, our prayers were answered,” said CCSU president Jack  Miller. “Everybody was brave and they were calm.”
